At present, Johnson’s teams have a combined record of 309-282-1 and have had a winning record in nine of those 12 seasons. Johnson picked up his milestone 300th career victory as a collegiate head coach on April 11, 2023 with an 8-4 road victory over Voorhees University.

2018's 30-25 record marked the fourth consecutive season that Edward Waters had 30 or more wins in a season. Under Johnson’s direction, the Tigers claimed the 2015 Gulf Coast Athletic Conference Regular Season Championship and set program record for winning percentage in the 2016 season with a .705. Johnson’s teams have not only been champions on the field, they have also been successful in the classroom as his players have received numerous academic awards from the College as well as the NAIA. The Tigers have also been instrumental in the community as they have been a part of several community service projects and have become advocates for brain cancer awareness following the long and valiant battle with the disease by former assistant coach Robert “J. C.” Cantrell.

A native of Jacksonville, Johnson graduated and played High School Baseball at First Coast High School (1998-2001). He obtained his Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management and Sports Management from Florida Gulf Coast University in 2007.
